Floranti is an online trading platform for flowers and plants. For Floranti, I delivered the design for platform development. This platform connects growers and buyers by matching supply with demand.
Client: Gearbox Innovations, Floranti
Tasks: Wireframing, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Prototype
Approach
I initiated the complete development of Floranti's new trading platform. Working alongside my company mentor, we began by gathering inspiration from various successful e-commerce sites to establish the foundation for our wireframes. The core design strategy centered on connecting buyers and growers efficiently.
- Catalog Experience: I designed the 'catalog' to continuously display current offerings, ensuring buyers always see up-to-date inventory.
- Engaging Product Display: Product items were designed to be informative and engaging, utilizing playful icons to quickly convey key details. These icons are integrated into the filtering system for intuitive search.
- Spotlights: Key or featured products are highlighted in a dedicated 'spotlights' section for increased visibility.
- Direct Connection: The moment a product is clicked, the platform immediately displays both the detailed product profile and the grower's profile. This direct link facilitates easy communication and strengthens the relationship between buyers and suppliers.
Result
Phase 1 of the Floranti trading platform is successfully realized and is already seeing high adoption, with numerous growers actively connected. Key features such as the 'Spotlights' showcase and complete product and grower profiles are live and operational.
Next Frontier: The Mobile Application
Looking ahead, the focus is shifting to mobile access. I have initiated the design for a new mobile application. This app will serve as a dynamic marketplace chat feature, allowing buyers and growers to communicate directly about products. This development aims to foster deeper connections and enhance real-time engagement across the platform.
